They are used for things like window frames a lot more than other alternatives, such as metal frames, for example. It can be easy to work with.
It can be repaired if it is damaged fairly easily and successfully.
If treated correctly and periodically going forward, it can last a long time.
Wood can be very appealing in appearance and texture.
It can be painted in a variety of colours and styles very well.

Wood Cons:

If ignored, it can require maintenance.

PVC Pros:

PVC is also pretty cheap.
Some people prefer its appearance and texture.
It can last a long time.

PVC Cons:

It can’t really be repaired.
It definitely isn’t natural.
It is worse for the environment.
It can’t really be painted in different colours.
