3 Essential Lifting Equipment

Lifting equipment can play an important role in everything from restocking a shop, to working in a mechanics, a factory, or a warehouse. They even play a significant role in running deliveries, particularly when large shipments are involved. Lifting equipment can be an effective way to make you and your staff work more efficiently, and to work a lot more safely too. Lifting stuff unassisted is one of the leading causes of workplace injury, and everyday workers report life changing back injuries that could see them with crippling pain for the rest of their lives. Some of the tools that are available will shock you with the versatility, and vast number of scenarios where they could actually be helpful where you might not expect.

The first item we’ll discuss is a pallet truck. You might think that this type of vehicle is something that you’ll only find in a warehouse in order to move pallets around quickly, but this fails to recognise a few key points. What makes a pallet truck a pallet truck is essentially that it contains a fork in order to lift items, a jack that actually does the heavy lifting, and then wheels in order to move it around. The actual size of the device is left up to you, and there are a number of smaller scale pallet trucks that can be moved around by hand. What you’re left with is a device that is able to pick up boxes and pallets off the ground and moved about in tight spaces, whether you’re out handing out deliveries, or moving stock around in the back of a department store.

The second option you should see is a fibre sling. This is a lifting equipment product that exemplifies versatility, and is a product capable of fulfilling a role as a piece of lifting equipment on its own, but is also something that can be used in conjunction with a range of other products.  A fibre sling is an item that is made from high strength fibres, which means that the product can be used to assist with lifting high loads. It also means that the fibre slings are resist to abrasions and cutting motions, which means that the fibre sling can be used to lift items that are painful to lift by hand, such as metallic objects and rough surfaced rocks, such as cement. It can also be used in conjunction with things like a chain hoist, so that greater weights can be lifted.

Another item that you might want to get is a chain hoist. This is a great product to have that can be used to move and reorient heavy objects. Where other types of lifting equipment are designed to lift objects and move them around, a chain hoist is able to hold objects in static positions so that they can be worked on in a wider range of positions. A chain hoist can be used in conjunction with electric motors and a variety of cabling, including chains and slings. The electric motors can speed up the process of moving items, and allows a single person to operate it remotely, making the entire process much easier.
