Design your own wooden summer house
Hopefully, we can look forward to a long hot summer this year so that we can enjoy spending time in the garden chilling out and having the occasional barbecue with friends and family. Having a summer house in the garden is a great idea as it serves as a place to store garden furniture and a space to retreat to when the temperature dips in the evening.
If you have a suitable level area in your garden in is certainly worth installing a wooden summer house and so the first step is to think about the design. There are lots of companies around that can come and discuss your ideas and show you their product range, but it is a good idea if you have thought about the type of summer house you want beforehand.
You will need to think about the positioning of the doors and windows that you require and whether the windows will need to be opening ones or fixed. Do you want a covered porch area at the front with wooden railings or are you happy to exit the building straight out onto the garden?
It is sensible to have electricity in the summer house so that you can use electric lights and other appliances in there, but this will have to be carried out by a qualified electrician who will be able to lay reinforced cables from the fuse board to the building.
