Is timber a good material for a garage door

Timber doors have been a popular choice for garage doors for a number of years. They offer excellent insulation and can look very elegant on any home. It may be that yo do not like the look metal garage doors and want something that is a bit more traditional. If this is the case then timber is the right choice for you. Another advantage of timber is that it can be sanded down and painted with ease, giving it a completely different look. It often comes in a wide range of different designs for you to chose from. Timber garage doors are often made up of two side hinged doors that open outwards. They can also have another internal door built into them allowing you pedestrian access when needed. You can also have windows added in to the doors to let some natural light in to the garage, which is often lacking in garages with metal doors.  Timber doors are often more costly to make and install so they will often come with a higher price tag, but considering they can last a long time (if you ensure that you look after them properly), they are certainly worth the investment.
