Waxing Hardwood Floors
You can protect hardwood floors by regularly waxing them. Here are a few products to help you maintain your floor.
Solid paste wax is usually the most popular and you would have to apply by hand. Moisten a lint-free cotton cloth and then wring it dry. This is so it doesn’t absorb too much wax. Apply the wax lightly and evenly, working it into the surface. Be weary of using paste wax on no-wax flooring/vinyl.
Liquid wax/oil is also another popular choice for hardwood floors. This is much easier to apply, but the finish will not last as long. You can use a lint-free cloth, mop or and electric floor polisher to prevent the wax from soaking in. After you have applied and it dries, the solvent will evaporate, leaving the polish. Then when dry, buff the floor with a clean towel or an electric polisher.
