Is it time to replace your wooden garden shed?
A garden shed is such a useful addition to any garden as it can be used to store garden tools, pots and lawnmowers throughout the year and garden furniture through the winter months if the shed is large enough but is your shed in need of some TLC?
Most sheds over time develop a leaky roof as the felt on the roof deteriorates due to the elements. This is easy to fix as a roll of felt and felting nails or staples can be bought from many DIY stores. Once the old felt is removed it is important to check that the timber underneath the felt has not been damaged as this will need replacing if it is rotten.
Many people decide to paint their garden shed to brighten it up. This is a good idea as the paint will help to protect the wood but if you prefer the finish to look more natural then it is worthwhile painting it with timber preservative every couple of years to extend the life of the shed.
If you think that the garden shed is beyond repair and needs replacing there are plenty of websites that advertise sheds for reasonable prices but be careful as you get what you pay for so if you want a quality product you may need to spend a bit more.
